# GATE 2021 Class Notes – Mechanical Engineering, HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER, PDF

In this blog, I will be telling all the Mechanical branch students how to prepare Heat Transfer subject for GATE/ IES. As all the mechanical branch aspirants will be aware that Heat Transfer is one of the most important subject for mechanical branch. It is one of the core subjects and the concepts should be clear to prepare for other subjects as well.

So, now question comes that how do you prepare it? What books to use? Which notes to be used? And Which topic is most important? I will be answering all these.

## From last year GATE papers :-

 YEAR 2020 2019 2018 2017 2016 2015 2014 HEAT AND MASS TRANSFERTOTEL MARKS 7 6 6 7 9 2 4

The above table shows the marks distribution for GATE/IES paper. It can be seen that the range of marks for this subject varies from 2 to 9, average being 5.8 which is 5.8 % of total marks. Obviously, the marks distribution also shows, it is one of the most important subject who’s question are mostly easy and you can score 100% in HMT

## Books required for HMT preparation:-
